Visual Arts & Communications

The Multimedia and Creative Technology (MCT) is a combination of the traditional visual arts with computer aided graphics. Graphic Design is the manipulation of various types of image, typography, color and shape in order to convey a message. The primary objective of the MCT program is to prepare the student for work in the graphic design field. Students should learn that design is not just decoration but rather the visual solution to a conceptual problem. Courses that the student will take range from ideas, drawing and painting to typography, website design, logos, package design, newsletter and magazine layouts. But these are just a few of the types of projects a Visual Arts & Communication major will experience.
